How the fish list is organised
Community guides sort catches into groups instead of one long list. Cod sits with the White Fish, next to Pollock and Saffron Cod. Tuna species such as Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Bigeye Tuna and Bluefin Tuna form their own heavy group.
Each fishing spot has its own table of possible catches. A fish that appears at one pier may never show up at the next. Note the spot where you landed a fish so you can return to it later.
Conditions that change what bites
Many fish only appear under certain conditions. Community map notes mention night, rain, a Harvest Moon, peak hours, specific seasons and thrown chum. Rare fish are flagged separately on those maps.
If a fish refuses to appear, change one condition at a time. Come back at night, wait for rain or try another season. Changing everything at once makes it hard to learn which rule matters.
Where to find Cod
Community tables place Cod at several early fishing spots rather than one secret location. It is a common White Fish, so it is a good target while you learn the minigame. Keep a few for cooking and requests before selling the rest.
Pollock and Saffron Cod share the same group and similar waters. Catching them is a sign you are in the right type of spot. Exact spot numbers in community tables do not always match named places, so check the in-game map.
How to catch Bluefin Tuna
Bluefin Tuna is listed at only a few fishing spots and needs Minced Fish chum. Minced Fish is made from Huchen or tuna species. It is sold at Priya’s Fishing Zone and Priya’s Crafting Shop in Tidewind.
Tuna fights hard, so an upgraded rod and full stamina help a lot. Bring food before a long session. If the fish keeps escaping, upgrade the rod before trying again.
Buying fish instead of catching them
Eileen’s General Store in Tidewind is reported to sell one Bluefin Tuna per day for 2,000 G. It appears after Tidewind Chapter 1. That is useful when a request or recipe needs tuna before you can catch it.
Priya’s Fishing Zone is different, because its stock changes every day and needs an invitation ticket. Fish caught there count as contest points. Check the message board before you enter to see what is available.
