Livestock belong to the farm-life system
Shacknews’ preview identifies cows, chickens, and sheep among the animals shown. Livestock care is discussed separately from the animals used to travel through the world. That distinction is useful when deciding whether your immediate question concerns farm management or exploration.
The examples are not a complete species catalog. The collected research does not establish every animal’s production value, feeding schedule, or purchase price. Avoid treating a familiar animal from another Harvest Moon release as proof of identical care requirements here.
Pets can accompany exploration
Nintendo Everything’s developer demonstration describes pets accompanying the player. One demonstrated interaction shows a dog calming a wolf. This is a specific example of how a companion can affect an encounter beyond ordinary farm activity.
That example does not prove that every dog interaction works identically or that every wild animal can be handled in the same way. Use the behavior as evidence of a companion system, rather than a universal taming instruction. Exact thresholds, favourite food, and ability conditions remain unverified in this packet.
Mounts and reaching new places
The previews describe biome-appropriate mounts, while Natsume’s material confirms exploration abilities for animal companions. Travel and access are therefore part of the animal system. A mount is relevant to the journey through Teradea rather than merely another animal to count at home.
Consider the barrier you are trying to cross when evaluating a companion’s role. The research does not establish a complete mount list or a route-by-route ability table. The area-unlock guide explains the supported distinction between traversal obstacles and story gates without inventing species-specific solutions.
Animal Centers and animals at home
The developer demonstration describes Animal Centers as an alternative to keeping every animal at home. That establishes a place for holding animals within the broader management system. It helps distinguish animal storage from the separate question of which companion accompanies an outing.
No exact Animal Center capacity is verified by the collected material. Fees, complete boarding rules, and every care interaction are also outside the accepted facts here. Check the information given by the Animal Center in your save before making plans around a particular limit.
Wildlife needs its own category
Nintendo’s official description names wolves, bears, and tigers as wildlife examples. These belong to the world you explore and should not be merged into a confirmed livestock roster. Their presence also means an unfamiliar animal encounter is not automatically a routine pet interaction.
The accepted sources do not provide a complete taming chart or every species location. Keep farm animals, pets, mounts, and wildlife distinct when searching for a solution. That basic separation helps you find the relevant system without relying on made-up food preferences or care numbers.
