New Harvest Moon Game: The 2026 Release and What Comes Next

Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea is the newest entry

Echoes of Teradea is the latest game in Natsume's Harvest Moon series, developed by IMAGICA GEEQ. Gematsu reported in August 2026 that its launch moved from September 24 to October 15. It released on that date on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam.

Physical copies exist for PS5, Switch 2, and Switch, along with digital versions on every platform. The game follows The Winds of Anthos in 2023 and Home Sweet Home, which reached consoles in 2025. It is also the first Harvest Moon game built for Switch 2 hardware.

What the new game adds

You start in Bloomfield Village as a mysterious mist spreads from the Forest of Echoes, bringing beasts at night and natural disasters. The world includes caves, remote islands, and towns such as Tidewind, Quarrytop, and Maplehill. Ten marriage candidates return, split between five bachelors and five bachelorettes.

Animal companions have abilities that clear rocks and fallen trees or reach hidden areas. Campsites let you rest and cook away from home, and you can now jump, climb ladders, and scale vines. Power Statues offer puzzles that reward Power Wisp Fruits for stamina and new abilities.

Is the new Harvest Moon good?

Early critic scores are mostly positive. OpenCritic lists 8.5 from PS4Blog, 8.3 from Video Chums, 4 out of 5 from RPGamer, and 7.9 from Pizza Fria. Reviewers praise the larger world, better mining, and more useful animals.

The main warnings concern pacing and performance. Video Chums notes the same slow start as The Winds of Anthos, while The Outerhaven reports frame drops on Switch 2. Our launch review roundup covers each score and platform note in more detail.

Other Harvest Moon releases in 2026

Echoes of Teradea was not the only Harvest Moon release this year. Natsume released The Winds of Anthos Complete Edition on May 8, 2026, for PS5 and Nintendo Switch. It bundles the 2023 base game with all five DLC packs, including camping, new animals, and a new chapter.

Deku Deals lists the Complete Edition at $29.99, which makes it a cheaper way into the modern series. Harvest Moon: Home Sweet Home also remains available on consoles and mobile. Neither is a brand-new game, but both are part of the current Harvest Moon lineup.

What comes after Echoes of Teradea?

Natsume has not announced another Harvest Moon game yet. Its open-world entries arrived in 2021, 2023, and 2026, but that is a pattern, not a promise. Watch Natsume's official news page for the next announcement.

The classic series is more active. Anime News Network reported that Marvelous teased its next unnamed Story of Seasons game during a 30th anniversary livestream in August 2026. In September, Gematsu reported Story of Seasons: Your Wonderful Life for Meta Quest 3 and Meta VR Glasses, planned for spring 2027.

Harvest Moon or Story of Seasons?

Searches for a new Harvest Moon game often mix two different series. Until 2014, Harvest Moon was the Western name for the series now called Story of Seasons, made by Marvelous. Natsume kept the Harvest Moon name and has made its own games since then.
