Echoes of Teradea Nintendo Switch 2 Edition

Natsume launched Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea on October 15, 2026, with a dedicated Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. Nintendo's US eShop lists it at $59.99, with an 8.8 GB download on Switch 2. It is the first game in the series to land on Nintendo's new hardware.

Nintendo's listing promises enhanced resolution, a smoother frame rate, and faster load times. It does not give exact resolution or frame-rate targets, so treat those claims as general. The original Switch version costs $49.99 and is about 4.3 GB.

Upgrading from the Switch version

If you already own the original Switch game, you do not have to buy the Switch 2 Edition outright. Nintendo's store offers an Upgrade Pack for base-game owners. Nintendo Life lists the upgrade path from the Switch version at $10.00.

That price matches the gap between the two editions, so buying the base game and upgrading later costs about the same as buying the Switch 2 Edition at launch. Confirm the current price in your regional eShop before paying. Regional prices and sales can change the math.

How it actually runs on Switch 2

Launch reviews split on performance. The Outerhaven reports frame drops while walking and turning the camera, slowdown during storms, and shadows that hide some ledges. Its reviewer suggests waiting for patches or choosing PC or another console.

Other Switch 2 reviewers were more positive. 4Scarrs Gaming gave performance 4.0 out of 5 and the game 4.1 overall, while Video Chums scored it 8.3 out of 10 after playing on Switch 2. LadiesGamers, also on Switch 2, mentions a slow camera and jittery movement on the farm.

Older Harvest Moon games on Switch 2

Natsume has not released Switch 2 Editions of its older Harvest Moon games. Nintendo's base Echoes of Teradea listing names Switch 2 as compatible, which means original Switch software can run there through backward compatibility. The Winds of Anthos bundle on Nintendo's eShop also lists a separate storage figure for Switch 2.

Backward compatibility runs the original version, not an enhanced one. The Winds of Anthos Complete Edition, released on May 8, 2026, bundles the base game and all DLC for Switch and PS5. Check each game's eShop page for Switch 2 notes before you buy.

Story of Seasons on Switch 2

Many players searching for Harvest Moon on Switch 2 actually want the classic series, which is now called Story of Seasons. Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar launched in August 2025 on Switch, Switch 2, and PC. RPG Site reported a $49.99 Switch release, a $59.99 Switch 2 release, and a paid Upgrade Pack.

This is the same edition structure Natsume later used for Echoes of Teradea. Grand Bazaar is a remake of a DS game that originally carried the Harvest Moon name in the West. If you want old-school village life on Switch 2, it is the closest match.

Which Harvest Moon should you buy for Switch 2?

If you want the newest Natsume game, buy the Echoes of Teradea Switch 2 Edition or upgrade a Switch copy. Read the performance reports first, because reviewers who focus on smoothness were the most critical. Players sensitive to frame drops may prefer the PC or PS5 version.

If you want a cheaper open-world Harvest Moon, the Winds of Anthos Complete Edition runs through backward compatibility. If you want the classic formula, look at Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar instead. Match the product name to your hardware so you know which version you are getting.
