Confirmed US price references
The original launch-and-pricing announcement lists Switch and PS5 at $49.99 in US dollars. It lists the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition at $59.99. Deku Deals corroborates the distinction between the Switch and Switch 2 price references.
The US PlayStation Store independently displays $49.99 for the PS5 Standard product in the collected research. That official listing is useful when identifying the specific digital product. Always compare like-for-like editions before deciding that two prices describe the same purchase.
Announcement price versus a current offer
An announcement price describes the product’s published pricing at that point in time. A live offer can depend on region, retailer, format, and the terms shown at checkout. This article does not label any store the cheapest without a current comparison supporting that claim.
The May announcement’s headline still contains the superseded September release date. Its historical prices can be cited without adopting that obsolete schedule. The later announced release date is October 15, 2026, so keep pricing history and release-date updates separate.
Switch and Switch 2 Edition are different products
The original Switch version and the dedicated Switch 2 Edition have separate listings. Nintendo describes enhancements for the Switch 2 Edition, including resolution, frame rate, and loading improvements. Playing a backward-compatible Switch copy is not the same purchase as selecting the enhanced edition.
Check the full edition name rather than relying on box artwork or a shortened retailer title. The evidence does not establish a free upgrade or a verified upgrade-pack price. A full-game price should not be presented as the cost of upgrading an existing copy.
PC, Xbox, and regional currencies
The research does not reliably verify a Steam or Xbox price. Those versions belong to the announced platform lineup, but platform support does not imply identical pricing. Visit the official store for your region rather than treating the Switch or PS5 figure as a PC price.
A dollar sign alone does not identify US dollars. Regional currencies, editions, and formats need to match before two offers are comparable. Keep the currency and platform beside any price you save or share so the figure retains its original meaning.
A useful purchase checklist
Identify the platform and edition first, then check whether the offer is for a physical copy, a digital full game, or an upgrade. Read the store’s current purchase terms and region information. Do not assume that an expired preorder promotion remains part of a later purchase.
The supported comparison is straightforward: the announced US base Switch and PS5 references are $49.99, while Switch 2 Edition is $59.99. Everything beyond that needs a current matching offer. This prevents an attractive but mismatched search result from becoming an inaccurate buying recommendation.
